About Graul’s Market

Graul’s Market is a chain of six locally owned and operated high-end grocery stores in the Baltimore, Annapolis and Eastern Shore regions. With a tradition of personal, friendly service, each store is managed by a third or fourth generation member of the Graul family. Graul’s Market, founded in 1920, offers fresh seafood, meat, produce and baked goods, many of which are made from family recipes. The Graul family also owns and operates Mays Chapel Wine & Spirits and Graul’s Wine & Spirits. For more information about Graul’s Market, visit www.graulsmarket.com.

The situation

Graul’s Market has worked with Gross Mendelsohn’s Technology Solutions Group since 1995. Gross Mendelsohn installed and customized Microsoft Dynamics GP, a robust accounting software package, for Graul’s Market. Most of the Technology Solutions Group’s work with the grocery store’s Dynamics GP package focuses on the Payroll, Accounts Payable, General Ledger and Bank Reconciliation modules.

The Technology Solutions Group has also supplied Dynamics GP add-ons, such as Create-A-Check for Payroll and Accounts Payable, allowing Graul’s to print payroll and accounts payable checks on blank perforated check stock, saving money by not having to get checks printed. Gross Mendelsohn’s technology consultants also setup Greenshades payroll service, which handles Graul’s quarterly federal and state payroll filings as well as year end filings and W-2s.

Gross Mendelsohn also helped Graul’s select a time clock system that interfaces with Dynamics GP. The firm provides network support to Graul’s, helping them with server, workstation, and printer issues, virus protection, and data backup.

Graul’s Market also relies on Gross Mendelsohn’s accounting and tax practice to review the company’s quarterly internal financial statements, and prepare corporate and individual returns. The firm also prepares income tax projections for Graul’s.

In our client's words

Chris Haiss of the Technology Solutions Group seems to know the answers to everything relating to Microsoft Dynamics GP. And on the rare occasion she doesn’t know the answer, she quickly finds out what I need to know.

Chris and her colleague, Michael Marinaro, are easy to reach. I like how they don’t speak in acronyms. They explain technical things in a way that’s easy to understand and apply to my business. The biggest benefit of working with Gross Mendelsohn’s Technology Solutions Group is simple: They take care of things so I don’t have to.

Greenshades is working well for us. Greenshades makes our weekly, monthly, quarterly and year end payroll tax payments in a timely manner. I’m happy with Greenshades’ customer service. We use the paperless paystub function of Greenshades and have found logging on, setting up notifications and navigating the website very easy. We are happy to stop printing direct deposit forms and eliminate the time required to print, fold and stuff the forms.”
