Michael Marinaro, CPA, MCTS, is both a Certified Public Accountant and a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist. This unique combination of accounting and IT experience makes him a great asset to clients who are implementing new financial software.

With over ten years of experience consulting with clients on ERP software, including Microsoft Dynamics GP, Sage 300 (formerly Sage ERP Accpac), and Sage 100 (formerly MAS90 and MAS200), Michael enjoys helping clients save time and increase efficiencies by integrating systems together.

An effective integration of systems saves data entry time (from having to double and triple enter data into multiple systems) and improves accuracy of data by eliminating data entry errors. An integrated system also gives business owners and managers a big picture view of what’s happening across departments within the organization.

A certified Microsoft Dynamics GP consultant, Michael uses Microsoft Dynamics Web services, eConnect and Integration Manager to integrate Dynamics GP with external systems.

Once a system is installed, clients benefit from Michael’s ability to pull practical, ready-to-use information out of complex systems. Hearing a client say, “It used to take me hours to type all those numbers in Excel and now it only takes me a few minutes to run the report” is music to Michael’s ears. He often uses Microsoft Dynamics GP business intelligence tools such as SmartList Builder and Excel Report Builder, as well as SQL Reporting Services, to build custom reports for clients.

Michael has an in-depth knowledge of many business intelligence products, including Crystal Reports, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, Microsoft FRx and Management Reporter, and Microsoft SharePoint / Business Portal. He also works in Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Access for data mining and application development.

Anyone who has ever worked with Michael knows that he is passionate about getting the most out of any software package. Michael admits that he cannot escape his “inner geek” – ever. He loves exploring new features in products and learning new technologies so he can apply them to real-life problems, or just play with them for the fun of it.

Michael readily shares his knowledge in the Technology Solutions Group’s webinar series.

Michael enjoys sharing his expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Reporting issues with the Baltimore SQL Server Users Group, the local chapter of the Professional Association for SQL Server.
