As Gross Mendelsohn’s director of marketing, Susan Gorham helps her firm grow through strategic marketing, communication and practice development programs.

Working exclusively in professional services marketing since 1994, Susan achieves results through effective and creative client and prospect communication, digital marketing initiatives, media relations, direct marketing, event planning and data management.

She consults with and supports the firm’s senior-level professionals and practice leaders in their marketing initiatives. Susan particularly enjoys finding new ways — especially through technology — to reach audiences.

Susan received an Accounting Marketing Achievement Award for "best website" from the Association for Accounting Marketing. The same website received a Marketing Excellence Award from the American Marketing Association's Baltimore chapter. She has spoken before audiences on topics that pertain to her areas of specialization, including how to write a marketing plan, how to use social media for business, how to use CRM systems for marketing, media relations plans, and marketing to attorneys.

She volunteers with Elkridge-Harford Hunt Pony Club by managing an annual fundraiser and helping at competitions. She is the former secretary of Green Spring Hounds Pony Club. Susan has served on the board of directors of the YMCA of York and York County’s Southern Branch, and the marketing and membership committees of the YMCA of York and York County. She is past president of the International Association of Business Communicators’ Baltimore chapter. Susan has also served on the board of directors of the New Freedom Heritage Group. She is a member of the Association for Accounting Marketing.

  • Susan has traveled to Kentucky three times for horse-related events, one of which her daughter competed in.
  • Doesn’t everyone want a unique souvenir from that special trip? Susan brought home a scar from an emergency surgery in Paris.
  • Susan played on a university rugby team during a study abroad year in England during college. And she survived.
  • She was captain of her high school badminton team. Yep, that’s right…badminton.
